About

I’ve always had a love for travel, vintage and design. But it wasn’t until a trip to visit a friend living in Alaska that I realized how these three things could intersect for me. In a small town just outside of Wrangell St. Elias National Park, seasonal workers come live for the summer, bringing with them their own living spaces. They reside in converted buses, campers, yurts and everything in between. After seeing these unique camping setups, I was hooked on finding my own.

As the search began, there were three features I looked for in my new camper. I wanted something small and easy to maneuver. I also wanted a tow behind camper that I could hook and unhook from my vehicle (no engines involved). And finally, the camper needed to be vintage and one-of-a-kind. When I came across a 1945 teardrop trailer on Craigslist, I knew it was the one.

After the renovations were complete, Hitch was too cute to keep all to myself, so I decided to rent it out for others to enjoy as well. The Hitch Adventures fleet now contains two completed campers, Hitch and Scamp. As it continues to grow, you can count on all the campers having the three aspects I looked for in my first camper; small, towable and one-of-a-kind. Camping is all about immersing yourself in nature and enjoying the place you’re parked. I hope you’ll find these campers enhance that experience for you.

See you out on the road soon!
